The SunDriver is finally here and we are the first in Australia with this internal hard drive solution for the Wii console. With the Sun Driver gamer’s can load Wii & GC games via their PC and play without having to burn games onto blank media. From the D2 Sun team, the same team that has bought us the SunKey, and SunDisk products; the SunDriver replaces the DVDROM drive in order to have space to neatly hook up a 2.5” laptop SATA hard disk (SunDriver IDE + CF version is also available) so you don’t need any ugly external hard disk sitting on the side of your Wii like WODE and the software-based solutions.
Once installed (even easier than a solderless wii mod chip, the Sun Drive simply replaces the DVD-ROM drive) users can transfer games from their PC to the SunDriver via the supplied USB data transfer cable. The process couldn’t be easier, and will save you hours and hundreds in burning your backup games onto disc. The SunDriver unlike Wii modchip solutions also supports the new D3-2 boards (serial number LAH1162xxx and above, something the modchips can’t boast). The SunDriver can even run 3.5” SATA PC hard disks via the supplied extension cable though it’s not the neatest solution. Please note hard drives must be purchased separately (5400rpm hard drives recommend due to power requirements).
